Charlotte Brown (nee Heppingstone)
1821 – 1879 |

Some
time before the earthquake and volcano eruption
of 1868,
Amanda Brown died, and was buried on the ranch at Kahuku.
Saying
no
child
of
his
should
rest
in
such
a
grave,
Captain Brown,
with
the help of a couple of laborers, uncovered the grave
and to removed the body to a regular cemetery.
