The Haleys’ wedding announcement as it appeared in
the Friend issue of April, 1864
Haley
was also a New England whaleman. During his second
voyage, he shipped as a boatsteerer aboard the Charles
W. Morgan. Years after his death, his
journal from this voyage was published
under
the title Whale
Hunt.
The original manuscript was donated to Mystic Seaport,
which has recently made it available for viewing
in digital
form on their web site.

(Further research is needed, but there’s a very strong probability that this was a different “Captain and Mrs. Haley”)

Seaport.)

This photo of Nelson Haley was apparently sent to one of Charlotte’s sisters at some point. It was found in a family album that belonged to Elizabeth Anne (née Heppingstone) Turner in Australia.
