Robert and Charlotte Brown met when he sailed as 3rd mate on the New London whale ship MENTOR, under Capt. Baker. Charlotte came aboard as a passenger at Geographe Bay, Western Australia, to attend Miss Kennedy (sister of her employer, Georgiana Molloy).
